Vallari Shukla and Susanne Mandrup have received a Nordisk Foundation grant to study cohesin dynamics and its crosstalk with adipogenic transcription factors during regulation of adipogenic lineage determination and adipocyte maintenance.
This project aims to understand the role of cohesin dynamics in adipogenic lineage determination. Specifically, we will understand the impact of cohesin dynamics and dosage on chromatin topology and its interaction with adipogenic transcription factors. Furthermore, we will dissect out the function of cohesin variants during adipocyte identity determination and maintenance. To achieve this, we will employ cutting edge and orthogonal methods like Micro C, super-resolution microscopy, genome editing and quantitative imaging.
Overall, the project will provide novel insights into the crosstalk between cohesin dosage and differential cohesin dynamics adipogenic transcriptional landscape.
