SOLEN Project (Organic Solar Cells)

In this project, we investigate two main research questions:

  • What are the perceived barriers to the widespread adoption of solar energy?
  • How can innovative framing initiatives break through these barriers?

The project aims to facilitate product innovation around organic solar cells. Organic solar cells are flexible, lightweight, and transparent, and can be attached to nearly any surface such as windows, clothes, or even building materials.

As an interdisciplinary initiative, the project brings together experts from engineering, chemistry, sociology, economics, and the humanities, all collaborating within the prestigious Elite Centre on Solar Energy Conversion and Storage, SOLEN. Funded by the Climate Cluster at the University of Southern Denmark, our goal is to drive innovation in solar energy by identifying challenges and paving the way for groundbreaking solutions.
Prof. Kerstin Fischer leads this research at the Department of Design, Media, and Educational Science. If you have any inquiries or wish to collaborate, feel free to reach out at kerstin@sdu.dk.
