Self-study programme for software developers

Purpose

Participants in the self-study programme will complete readings on their own and have access to a wide array of interactive coding notebooks as well as step-by-step tutorials for running the notebooks and learning how to use quantum simulators and deploy quantum algorithms.

The self-study programme will be designed to be completed in 6–10 weeks depending on the participants’ available time commitment. Finally, participants of the self-study programme will also have access to periodic online Q&A sessions, where participants can meet with quantum experts to enhance their asynchronous learning.

If you are new to quantum computing, we recommend starting the two-day course for developers to build a solid foundation before beginning the self-study programme.

Learning outcomes

After completing the self-study programme, participants will:

  • understand the fundamental principles behind quantum technology.
  • gain hands-on experience with quantum software, algorithms, and simulators.
  • explore and develop quantum solutions.

Target audience

This self-study programme is designed for software developers with a background in mathematics, physics, or engineering who wish to get an introduction to quantum computers, quantum software, and algorithms. It is not aimed at experts, but rather at curious professionals with an interest in technology and innovation.
