Laboratory facilities and technology platform

Technology supporting our research

The Protein Research Group has a long tradition of developing and applying advanced mass spectrometry and associated analytical technologies. Our research is supported by instrumentation and expertise for quantitative proteomics, protein characterisation, structural proteomics, post-translational modification analysis and computational data analysis.

Part of a broader mass spectrometry infrastructure

Our technology platform forms part of the broader mass spectrometry infrastructure at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Faculty of Science at SDU. The infrastructure is shared across the Biomedical Mass Spectrometry and Systems Biology Section and is maintained and developed by members of the Protein Research Group together with colleagues in the section.

The shared infrastructure provides technologies and expertise for protein chemistry and proteomics, structural proteomics, nucleic acid analysis, lipidomics, metabolomics, mass spectrometry imaging and proteomics informatics.

From technology to biological questions

The technology platform supports research across the Protein Research Group and enables us to combine advanced molecular measurements with biological and biomedical research questions. Access to shared instrumentation, specialised expertise and computational analysis also provides a strong basis for collaboration within SDU and with external academic, clinical and industrial partners.
