If conspiracy theories are true, why should we participate in politics?
The entire elite is in the Epstein files! The state is forcibly removing children! Politicians are lying! These statements are currently rampant on social media and, if they are to be believed, you might get the impression that there is no point in participating in democracy and voting in parliamentary elections. In this presentation, Kasper Grotle Rasmussen, associate professor of American Studies and fellow at the Nordic Humanities Center, explores the connection between conspiracy theories and democracy and why political discussion is better than extreme actions.
