Research vision
Aims of research:
1. Understand how epigenetic activation of genes, normally only expressed in male germ cells (i.e. cancer/testis antigens), support hallmark phenotypes of cancer cells.
2. Understand the complex interactions between cancer cells and immune cells in the tumor microenvironment and find novel ways to modulate these to enhance anti-tumor immunity.

Three key publications
DNA methyltransferase inhibition promotes recruitment of myeloid-derived suppressor cells to the tumor microenvironment through induction of tumor cell- intrinsic interleukin-1
