Regional Pleural Clinic OUH

In collaboration with national and international partners, we conduct clinical, register-based and translational research within the diseases of the pleura, including both randomized trials and observational studies.

A big part of our research focuses on mesothelioma, where we aim to identify more robust diagnostic, prognostic and predictive biomarkers that will facilitate better diagnostic and allow personalized treatment for mesothelioma patients.

We are also primus motor in a national, multicenter, randomised, controlled study for the treatment of bacterial pleural infection, and we are involved with several studies regarding thoracic ultrasound and novel diagnostic and therapeutics procedures for the diseases of the pleura.
