Education

Participation and research to ensure the development of evidence based education is a key aspect of being a researcher at ODIN.

Examples of educational activities the unit is involved in are as follows:

Pregraduate training:

  • Medical students
  • Nursing students
  • Pharmacist students

National postgraduate training:

  • Training and education of junior registrars in internal medicine
  • Training and education of senior registrars in respiratory medicine
  • Training and competency assessment in bronchoscopy
  • Training and competency assessment in endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)
  • Training and competency assessment in focused lung ultrasound (FLUS)
  • Training and competency assessment in basic transthoracic procedures
  • Courses in High Resolution Computed Tomography (HRCT)
  • Courses in the diagnosis of lung cancer

International postgraduate training:

  • The European Respiratory Society: Spirometry Training Programme
  • The European Respiratory Society: Thoracic Ultrasound Certified Training Programme
  • The European Respiratory Society: Thoracic Imaging Course

Research in education, training and competency assessment:

ODIN collaborates with the Regional Technical Simulation Center (TechSim), OUH, and Copenhagen Academy for Medical Education and Simulation (CAMES) on several research Projects.

Examples are:

  • PhD project on education, training and competency assessment in focused lung ultrasound
  • PhD project on education, training and competency assessment in contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS)
  • PhD project on education, training, and assessment of competencies in gastrointestinal endoscopy of the upper gastrointestinal tract and the small intestine
