Methods

  • We have a setup in the clinic that enables us to include patients, observe, measure, and register scientific information in a systematic way
  • We have established  national databases in the fields of thyroid cancer and salivary gland cancer, now administrated through the Danish Head and Neck Cancer Group (DAHANCCA)
  • We have initiated national databases in glottic neoplasia and multiple endocrine neoplasia 2  (MEN2), which are supported by Open Data and Exploratory Network (OPEN)
  • We have established a multidisciplinary setup for scientific assessment of imaging procedures in head and neck with experience in CT, PET/CT, MRI, and PET/MRI.
  • For audiology research, we have a lab with sound booths for high-quality audiometry, sound-field testing, and EEG measurements.
  • Advanced equipment for vestibular examinations and scientific observations is available for our researchers.
  • We have equipment for ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) of parathyroid glands.
  • And for near-infrared-induced autofluorescence for the identification of the parathyroid glands.
  • We have facilities for objective voice assessment (phonetogram) and many years of experience with such assessments.
  • Finally we can measure swallowing capacity for scientific purposes are made in a multidisciplinary setup with up-to-date equipment
