Dr. Silja Vöneky is Professor of International Law, Comparative Law, and Ethics of Law and Director of the Institute for German, European, and International Public Law at the University of Freiburg.
She leads the legal and ethical research within the interdisciplinary ReScaLe project (Responsible and Scalable Learning for Robots Assisting Humans).
Her research on the regulation and governance of AI focuses in particular on how legal and ethical frameworks can address and minimize risks to protected rights, while enabling responsible technological innovation.
