CLAIR Seed funding project 2026

Artificial intelligence and Criminal Intent in the Nordic Context

AI is excreasingly developed to engage in anthropomorphous conversations and to generate realistic images and videos that simulate various forms of human behaviour. This technological development has resulted in various dilemmas in relation to criminal law, e.g with regard to deepfakes and chatbots. This preliminary project evalutes the existing knowledge on technological, theoretical and legal developments to conduct a large scale research project on the relationship between artificial intelligence and criminal intent. It generates interdisciplinary knowledge across the fields of data science, legal theory, and criminal law that may inform legal debates and cases regarding generative algorithms.
