Research Unit of General Practice

Symptoms, healthcare-seeking, treatment, and follow-Up

Everyone experiences symptoms, but not all symptoms result in a consultation with a doctor.

Our research focuses on mapping and analyzing symptoms in the general population and identifying factors that influence healthcare-seeking behavior; including personal, structural, and organizational factors.

Similarly, our research examines a wide range of factors within general practice and across healthcare sectors that may affect patient assessment and treatment.

As part of the healthcare reform, general practice is expected to play a central role in follow-up care after a range of illnesses.

As a natural extension of diagnosis and treatment, our research also focuses on follow-up care in general practice and collaboration across sectors.
