The research unit OPEN is organisationally anchored within the Department of Clinical Research at the University of Southern Denmark, with Professor Katrine Hass Rubin serving as Head of Research.
OPEN is a dynamic and interdisciplinary research unit comprising researchers with diverse academic backgrounds, areas of expertise, and methodological approaches to the use of data. This breadth of expertise is a key strength and is reflected in the unit’s organisation into three overarching research groups, each representing distinct scientific profiles.
The groups conduct research at an international level, with particular focus on the following areas:
- Epidemiology
- Patient safety and quality
- User involvement
