New PhD-student at OPEN

Mikaela Augustussen is affiliated with OPEN as PhD-student with the project: "Palliative care for Greenlandic cancer patients in Greenland and Denmark - a PhD-study"

Mikaela is a nurse and has a Master in Health Science. Before starting as a PhD-student, she was employed as a nursing consultant at the Department of Health at the Greenland Home Rule.
The project aims to examine Greenlandic cancer patients' symptomatology, to examine quality of life in the palliative stages to uncover relatives' satisfaction with the health care efforts in a cycle of a sick family member as well as to conduct mapping of existing palliative services.
