Katrine Hass Rubin new Research Assistant

September 1st 2013 Katrine Hass Rubin was employed as Research Assistant at OPEN and on November 13th she defended her PhD-thesis...

Katrine is educated as physiotherapist and has 8 years of experience as clinical tutor in physiotherapy along with 2 years experience as leader. Subsequently she studied Cand.Scient.San at University of Southern Denmark.

Katrine has just defended her PhD dissertation entitled: "the use of risk assessment tools in the clinical management of osteoporosis".  Her dissertation proves that risk assessment tools potentially can be uses in the clinical handling of osteoporosis to identify women with an increased risk of bone fracture  instead of the case-finding strategy, which is currently used in Denmark and several other countries across the world.

Parallel to her PhD-study Katrine has been the day-to-day project leader and data responsible for the ROSE study (Risk-stratified Osteoporosis Strategy Evaluation). ROSE is a randomized study with 35,000 women from three different sites in the Region of Southern Denmark. The aim of this study is to examine whether population surveys (screening) for osteoporosis is practical and should be established as a routine offer for all women in Denmark.

Throughout both projects Katrine has worked with development and validation of questionnaires, conducted randomizations, inclusion and development of data bases along with interconnector of data from registries, handling, coding and purification of data from various Danish registries.

In OPEN Katrine will continue her scientific work, parallel to management of administrative tasks.

OPEN welcomes Katrine and congratulates her with her PhD-defense.
