As a research assistant within HADAL, my work focuses on the calibration, configuration, and deployment of instruments for in situ measurements. A central objective of our research is to investigate benthic oxygen dynamics and carbon cycling across a diverse range of marine environments under changing climate conditions. This includes studies ranging from shallow Arctic systems—where declining sea ice prolongs periods of photosynthetic activity—to deep-sea trenches that function as significant long-term carbon sinks.
In addition, my work involves the development and application of particle seeding techniques to enhance signal-to-noise ratios in aquatic eddy covariance measurements, particularly in deep-sea environments characterized by low natural particle concentrations.
