Assistant professor Stefanie Sohn is currently passionate about understanding how and why the mere presence of virtual service robots or chatbots affects human behavior.

Chatbots are autonomous agents with artificial intelligence whose major purpose is to assist customers with inquiries or advisory on websites.

But Stefanie’s findings show that website visitors feel watched with the presence of chatbots on websites. This feeling of being watched leads people to disclose less about themselves at a later point in time.
