FLASH meets other experts in the human microbiome at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Challenge Symposium.

Today Novo Nordisk Foundation hosted the first challenge grant symposium “The human microbiome in metabolism” together the two challenge grant receivers Torben Hansen and Frederic Bäckhed. Invited were partners of MicrobLiver, Gut-MMM andthe EU project GALAXY. During the day Peer Bork gave a lecture regarding drug-bug interactions in the human gut and Max Nieuwdorp discussed the use of fecal microbiota transplantation in human obesity. PhD fellow Mads Israelsen was invited to present how clinical studies are design at FLASH in order to provide optimal biological material for microbiome research. At the end of the symposium partners showed some of their current work during the inspiring poster session.

Thanks to Torben Hansen, Frederik Bäckhed and the Novo Nordic Foundation for a great day.
