CP3-Origins Research areas We pursue research in many different areas ranging from fundamental physics, over dark matter and dark energy, gravity and cosmology to astrophysics. Dark Matter searches A main focus of our research group is to uncover the origin and particle nature of Dark Matter. Cosmology We are working on understanding the most fundamental problems pertaining to our understanding of the Universe. Cosmology and gravity The theoretical cosmology group explores effects of general relativity, which we study by making synthetic observations in cosmological models. High-energy astrophysics and optical time-domain astronomy We are engaged in high-energy astrophysics in members of the major scientific collaborations within gamma-ray astronomy across the world. Fundamental Interactions and Particle Physics We attempt to understand the most fundamental theories that describe our universe and its smallest building blocks.
