The University Library hosts four PhD Cafés each semester – typically an informal drop-in event where PhD students can get advice, share experiences and connect with peers.
At the PhD Cafés, you can get input on topics such as:
- optimizing your literature search
- making a data management plan
- research integrity issues
- using AI in research
- your publishing strategies
- copyright issues and Open Access
- research identifiers like ORCID or Scopus
- SDU’s plagiarism screening
- Submitting your PhD in Pure
You’re welcome to come alone or with colleagues, grab a coffee or cappuccino, and talk with us about whatever obstacles you’re facing in your PhD journey.
The PhD Café also organizes Ask Me Anything sessions, where SDU researchers answer questions about academic life – from handling tricky supervisors to preparing for job applications and everything in between. The University Library also collaborates with SDU RIO to host career-related workshops that support your professional development as a PhD.
All cafés take place in Philoteket, the Library’s dedicated PhD space. Here you’ll also find a lounge area, AV equipment and more.
