Kickoff-event
Science Education Hub welcomed participants with a brief presentation of the hub’s vision and planned activities by Poul Nielsen, Connie Svabo, and Rie Troelsen. This was followed by a talk and workshop by Lars Ulriksen on students’ journey into academia. He focused on studying as a process of becoming, the many possible paths and identities, the study experience as a journey metaphor, and the explicit and implicit expectations of what students should learn, like, and do.
Team Based learning (TBL)
Science Education Hub hosted an introduction to Team-Based Learning as a method for creating more engaging teaching in large classes. Lecturer Lotte O’Neill presented the core principles of TBL and showed how the method can increase student activity and collaboration, after which the participants discussed possible pathways, identities, and expectations in working with student-activating teaching.
Teaching with AI
Science Education Hub hosted an event on the use of AI in teaching at the Faculty of Science. Speakers Maiken Westen Holm Svendsen and Lukas Galke Poech offered different perspectives on AI in teaching, after which participants engaged in a joint discussion and mini workshop on possible pathways, identities, and expectations in working with AI, as well as ideas for future meetings and collaborations.
