Research areas

The prehospital research unit has a special research interest in pre-hospital treatment. The pre-hospital treatment covers the initial treatment advice in the telephone contact with the central but also the treatment patients receive in ambulances. 

Who are we:

The unit currently employs a clinical professor, Søren Mikkelsen. A clinical lectureship position is in the process of being filled.

In addition, Associate Professor, Cand. Psych. Lotte Huniche holds a part-time position. Public health graduate Sif Vobbe and philosopher Christina Jørck are also employed part-time.

Two specialists in anaesthesiology are affiliated with the research unit: Research Associate Professor, PhD Anne Craveiro Brøchner from the Department of Anaesthesiology at Hospital Lillebælt in Kolding, and Head of Research and Consultant Peter Martin Hansen from the Department of Anaesthesiology at Svendborg Hospital. The unit also includes Clinical Assistant and Medical Consultant Rasmus Peter Jakobsen.

Three PhD students are currently employed at the unit: Oliver Beierholm Sørensen, Jeannett Kjær Jørgensen, and Peter Martin Hansen. Trine Nielsen, Julie Rødsgaard, and Signe Amalie Wolthers are based at other research units, but their projects are also affiliated with the prehospital research unit. – Read more about the PhD projects at the research unit.

The prehospital research unit also includes several junior doctors and medical students: Louise Lind, Anina Miethe, Marianne Winther, Bjarke Kjær Hansen, Skrållan Arndt, Anders Jydby Jørgensen, Malea Benediktsson, Emma Engelhardt, Louise Breum, Johannes Andersen, August Licht, as well as a number of other students and junior doctors who are affiliated on an ad hoc basis.
