Ships can spend considerable time waiting for access to ports and terminals. Better coordination of vessel arrivals can enable ships to adjust their voyage and arrive when the port is ready to receive them – known as Just-in-Time Arrival.

MHT’s contribution

MHT contributes research on the human and organisational aspects of Just-in-Time Arrival. The research considers how new digital solutions, information flows, and changing work processes affect the people and organisations that will use these solutions in practice.

MHT thereby contributes to ensuring that the development of new risk analyses considers not only technical and operational efficiency, but also Human Factors and safety.

Overall, the project aims to contribute to more efficient and sustainable maritime operations through improved coordination between ships, ports, and other stakeholders.
