17th May 2022, 13.00-15.00: The Danish opt-out and EU’s defence cooperation

The event will be in room U150 at SDU. The speakers are Bugge Thorbjørn Daniel (Associate Professor, Department of Law), Anne Ingemann Johansen (Research Fellow, Center for War Studies) and Chiara de Franco (Associate Professor, Department of Politics and head of the Center for War Studies).

What do the EU treaties say about the member states’ role in EU’s defence cooperation? What does the Danish defence opt-out mean both legally and politically? And where is the EU defence cooperation headed, especially in light of the war against Ukraine? Those and other questions will be expertly addressed by Bugge Thorbjørn Daniel (Associate Professor, Department of Law), Anne Ingemann Johansen (Research Fellow, Center for War Studies) and Chiara de Franco (Associate Professor, Department of Politics and head of the Center for War Studies).

The experts will present their topics shortly before opening up for questions and answers. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to have experts’ insight into the Danish defence opt-out in view of the 1 June referendum.

The event is primarily in Danish.

Please note: the seats in the room will be distributed as first come, first seated, and rooms for similar events have been packed.
