Gunilla Calov is a physician and clinical assistant at the Centre for Liver Research, where she primarily works on the international clinical research project ALB-TRIAL, which investigates a novel blood-based biomarker to predict the treatment response to human albumin in patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis.
She plays a central role in the day-to-day conduct of the study and is responsible for a broad range of clinical, administrative, and organisational tasks, including patient enrolment, baseline assessments, visit scheduling, and management of blood test results.
In addition, she serves as a key liaison between patients, students, and researchers, with responsibility for onboarding and training new students as well as ensuring data quality across participating centres.
Gunilla also contributes actively to dissemination and communication related to the research projects, including serving as the centre’s social media lead and delivering presentations for patients, colleagues, and collaborative partners.
