We are currently recruiting for and conducting three individual studies. Please reach out to us if you want to know more.
Study 1: Exploring digital entertainment soundscapes
In everyday life, there are endless opportunities to engage with digital audio entertainment – diverse sonic content such as music streaming, podcasts, audio books, digital radio, meditation apps and more. Given the ubiquity of this engagement, its potential to influence user wellbeing is significant. Consequently, this project will explore how digital audio entertainment affects social, emotional and psychological wellbeing.
Are you curious about your digital listening habits and your wellbeing? We are looking to recruit participants into the next phase of this project.

Study 2: Case study on sharing and engagement with Spotify Wrapped 2024
In studying Spotify Wrapped social media reactions we will explore how digital platforms shape user engagement and create collective rhythms. This study will contribute to subproject 4 on Collective Rhythms. We draw on digital data collected on various social media platforms and donated by participants.
We are, amongst others, interested in the temporal rhythm of anticipation and sharing that this collective cultural moment entails. We ask How does the annual release of Spotify Wrapped create collective rhythms online?
Study 3: Individual entertainment rhythms
This study zooms into people's mundane and playful entertainment habits and routines and seeks to explore their embedded engagements with a personal activity, as defined by them. The research employs a multi-method approach, including qualitative interviews, media diaries, and creative methods. Guided by the research question: How does digital entertainment shape people’s everyday rhythms?, this study focuses on individual playful entertainment activities and disconnections through individual in-depth case studies.
