Our research is industry-relevant and driven by scientific challenges emerging from real-world digital systems, including their increasing complexity, autonomy and use of AI. We combine expertise in software and intelligent systems, architectures, AI and data science, algorithms engineering and optimization, with particular attention to AI-driven development, autonomous and agentic systems, and cloud-edge computing.
Across these areas, we aim to make future digital systems more sustainable, efficient, trustworthy and resilient, considering quality, computational and economic efficiency, environmental sustainability, sovereignty and human factors.
Close collaboration with industry and public organisations is an integral part of our research. Real-world challenges inspire new scientific questions, while collaboration provides opportunities to develop, experiment with and evaluate new methods and technologies in realistic environments.
