Biography:

Christoph Beier is a professor at the Department of Neurology at the Odense University Hospital and the University of Southern Denmark. He completed medical school at the University of Tuebingen, Germany. After completion of his residency, he worked consultant at the RWTH Aachen and completed his post-doctoral lecture qualification. Since 2012, he is responsible for the epilepsy clinic and head of the epilepsy research group.

Head of the epilepsy research group that aims to improve the treatment of the most severely affected patients with intractable generalized epilepsies and status epilepticus. The focus of current research is to adapt existing treatment options to each individual patient and to developed new treatment approaches. The ultimate goal is to accelerate treatment and achieve seizure freedom faster, with fewer seizures and fewer side effects to antiseizure medications.
