Anna Bonven is a project manager in Odense Municipality and project coordinator for Model Region Funen in the ARCADIA project. Anna is responsible for organizing the collaboration across the five Funen partners and for the strategic and organizational context leading up to the broad ARCADIA partnership.
WHY ARCADIA?
I am trained as an anthropologist with a master's degree in Human Security, so I have a particular interest in the relational aspects and the social norms and incentives involved in the transformation of society. The use of nature-based solutions can help enhance the resilience of cities and regions to extreme weather events.
WHY IS ARCADIA AN INTERESTING PROJECT TO BE A PART OF FOR ODENSE MUNICIPALITY?
With ARCADIA, Odense Municipality can help pave the way for how we address both too much and too little water in our cities and catchments. The repeated and record-setting weather events of recent years highlight the need for concrete plans on how to make our cities and water environments more robust against future climate extremes. It's particularly important to link climate adaptation with related agendas, such as water environment protection, CO2 reduction, and biodiversity. This cannot be achieved by a single project alone. Therefore, a key focus throughout the ARCADIA project will be collaborating with the right stakeholders, both internally within the organization and across partners, municipalities, and national borders.
