About the centre

The Centre for Quantum Mathematics opened on 1 November 2019.  Our researchers perform research in mathematics with relations to quantum theory, covering both foundations as well as various applications such as quantum computing (quantum software).

Organisation

The Centre for Quantum Mathematics is a part of the Topology, Algebra, Analysis & Geometry section at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.

We are affilliated to the Danish Institute for Advanced Study, as Centre Director Jørgen Ellegaard Andersen has been appointed DIAS Chair of Quantum Mathematics.

Futhermore, the centre collaborates closely with the  SDU Climate Cluster

Research projects

QM is involved in several smaller and larger research projects funded from both Danish, European and American – private and governmental funds. A couple of these research projects have individual websites:

ERC Synergy Grant(Jørgen Ellegaard Andersen is cPI), EUR 10 m for the project named: ”Recursive and Exact New Quantum Theory - ReNewQuantum” (2019-2025).

Simons Foundation Collaboration Grant (Jørgen Ellegaard Andersen is PI), USD 8 m for the project named: ”New Structures in Low-dimensional topology” (2022-2026)

Spin-off

The company Qpurpose was founded by Jørgen Ellegaard Andersen in 2022.
