Use of performance enhancing drugs in sport

DRIVEN awarded in late 2022 and early 2023 three projects that examined the use of performance enhancing drugs in sport. All three projects have been completed and relevant publications can be found in the publications section of DRIVEN.

The first project, funded by the Partnership for Clean Competition, reviewed the psychological literature regarding the influential predictors of doping intentions/willingness and doping use in sport and other physical activity domains.

The second project, awarded by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), developed an assessment tool to help national anti-doping agencies to evaluate the effectiveness of their anti-doping education.

The third project, supported by an Erasmus plus funding from the EU, testing the use of virtual reality as a tool to faciltate anti-doping education in fitness contexts.
