Annual University Celebration

Practical information

If you are travelling by light rail, entrances 23 and 35 are most convenient. Note that the last departure to Odense and Tarup Centeret is at 01.30 a.m.

Taxis can be ordered to SDU East, use entrance 59.

We recommend that you use P1 and P2 (east side of campus). These are accessed via Niels Bohrs Allé where all traffic is led east via Campusvej.

Use entrance 59/Krogene Ø.

If arriving on bike, we recommend using entrance 23 and 35/Gydehutten.

See PDF overview map for parking and entrances here.

Wheelchair users attending the celebration should  use entrance 59. However, this will require the assistance of an attendant.

If you are a wheelchair user, we recommend that you contact the Rector’s Office at aarsfest@sdu.dk so that we can ensure an attendant is available to assist you.

Cloakroom storage is included in the admission price for the Annual University Celebration.
Please note that you may only cloak 1 outer garment, e.g. a coat. You cannot cloak bags etc.

A photographer will be taking pictures during the Annual University Celebration. Images will be used internally and on SDU’s accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as well as its website.

Both photos and videos will be made for use in covering the event in accordance with the Danish law on media responsibility.

Please remember that smoking indoors is not permitted

As an exception, at the Annual University Celebration smoking is permitted in several courtyards (marked with red).

See PDF overview map for smoking areas here.

The following relates only to campus entrances doors in Odense.

3.00 p.m.

Entrances 23, 32, 35 and 59 open for the opening ceremony. All other entrances will be locked, so that it will no longer be possible to use access cards/student cards. Therefore, the green “out” buttons by the doors will not work either.

5.30 p.m.

Entrances 23, 32, 35 and 59 will be the only entrances open after this point.

1.00 a.m.

Entrances 23, 32, 35, 59 and the main entrance will open. At all other entrances it will again be possible to use access cards/student cards as well as the “out” button.

3.00 a.m.

Entrances 23, 32, 35, 59 and the main entrance will be locked. All entrance doors are reset to “normal”.

NB! In the case of an emergency, the “emergency knob” will always function, if the “out” buttons are not in operation. The “emergency knob” is found under the green plastic hood on all doors with access control.
