Expectations
General lab culture
- We speak in a positive language.
- We identify solutions instead of complaints.
- Ask whenever in doubt. It is always okay to ask.
- Everyone makes mistakes. Please speak about them.
- Clean up after yourself.
- Respect lab safety rules.
- We don’t compete. We collaborate. We help each other.
- Weekly group meeting is mandatory (unless you have courses etc.).
- Working hours should primarily be weekdays somewhere between 7.30-17.00.
- Keep a thorough lab book (see this guide). Update databases.
- Independency:
- Generate ideas
- Interpret results
- Design new experiments
- Be curious
Of course, this will always be in collaboration with your supervisor. New and younger students will of course need more help – however, we expect that everyone puts some effort into independently running their own project. All students will be connected to a main daily supervisor.
