Rauch group teambuilding

The Rauch group went for a non-scientific outing in the tree tops of a local forest. This is a report from one of the participants.

In the Rauch group  - a subgroup of KMEB lead by Alexander Rauch - we periodically go for an outing with a scientific or non-scientific activity to bond over. This time, the Rauch group went to the local GoMonkey park where the objective is to climb increasingly difficult obstacle courses in the tree tops. We arrived in the small forest on a brisk and cool morning welcomed by the competent instructors that were to help us learn to safely use the climbing equipment while traversing the tree top courses. After a short introduction we were let loose into the park. Now finding ourselves in the middle of the climbing park, we decided to tackle the obstacle courses starting with the easiest difficulty. While bonding, having fun and helping each other passing the obstacles, we moved through the tree tops at our own pace. Blood, sweat and tears of strenuous effort were shed, but we all made it through relatively unscathed and in good mood. The outing was concluded after enjoying a hearty lunch and discussing the climbing experiences we all went through earlier that day. So much fun!
