The pathophysiology of diabetic bone fragility is discussed within the broader context of aging in this new review article from KMEB
In a recent review, Professor Moustapha Kassem and postdoctoral researcher Eva Wölfel use the interdisciplinary research environment present at KMEB to discuss new aspects of the pathophysiology of diabetic bone fragility combining clinical, tissue level, and cellular perspectives with evidence from human and animal studies. Through this multifaceted approach, they highlight the importance of aging-related mechanisms as a key contributor to bone fragility in individuals with type 2 diabetes.
