International Sexual Health Promotion Network

The International Sexual Health Promotion Network is a global network of researchers from a range of countries who are investigating how information about aspects of sexual health is provided to different population groups in their countries, with an emphasis on the use of multimodal communication and on cultural issues related to conceptions of sexual health.

The network is an initiative of Theo van Leeuwen. It is headed by Nina Nørgaard and Theo van Leeuwen of the Centre for Multimodal Communication at the University of Southern Denmark.

The network currently consists of researchers from Australia, Brazil, China, Denmark, Iran, Malaysia and Nigeria. The members of the network get together for online research meetings, workshops and conferences – work that has also resulted in a joint special issue of the academic journal Visual Communication.
