Single case study: How do newcomers respond to a welcome event by a Danish municipality?
This pilot study explores how a single municipal welcome event for newcomers is perceived by newly arrived migrants, local volunteers, and municipal employees in one municipality in the South of Denmark.
Using a qualitative and explorative approach, the study applies structured interview guidelines in focus group discussions with participants from each stakeholder group. The aim is to gain nuanced insights into experiences, expectations, and perceived outcomes of the event.
As an initial case study, the project seeks to identify key themes and potential areas for improvement, offering inspiration for the design of future welcome initiatives and laying the groundwork for further research.
