Corporate Museums

Sønderjylland-Schleswig

Local heritage accessible to all

The cross-border region Sønderjylland-Schleswig, spanning Denmark and Germany, is rich in cultural heritage. Our clear objective is to lift these cultural treasures and “make them visible”.

As a HORIZON project, we are part of VERNE: The one-stop-shop of accessible circular solutions for sustainable tourism, which aspires to accelerate the transition of local and regional tourist destinations toward sustainable and circular models across Europe. The VERNE solutions will be implemented and demonstrated in 5 European representative tourist destinations (VERNE Pilots). The VERNE project aims to address these challenges by promoting sustainable cultural and heritage tourism through corporate micro-museums, fostering regional identity, and integrating digital solutions to enhance accessibility and engagement.

“The VERNE project in Sønderjylland-Schleswig presents a groundbreaking approach to cultural and heritage tourism by combining circular economy principles with corporate micro-museums.”
- VERNE

“Corporate museums can be an attractive offering that draws cultural tourists to the region or encourages local tourists to stay. Local and regional companies can use ‘micromuseums’ to make local heritage accessible to all interested citizens.”
- Klarissa Lueg, Associate Professor, Pilot leader

Corporate Museums Sønderjylland-Schleswig has two fundamental key elements:

  • A digital platform
  • A physical Corporate Heritage Network

As a visitor, you will find available museums on a map. You will be provided with the information you need when touring local heritage in Sønderjylland-Schleswig. For owners or curators of a (micro-) museum, we will make your corporation and exhibition visible on an exclusive single website of our platform.

Within our Corporate Heritage Network you will connect with other corporate museum owners and those who share an interest in cultural heritage. You will be able to collaborate with companies, public administration bodies, DMOs, NGOs, and other stakeholders. We offer a vibrant community of practice, where we invite you to share your knowledge and corporate heritage perspective, and to learn about micromuseum curation and corporate heritage.

Our first Corporate Heritage Network Meeting will take place in September 2025 at Alsion in Sønderborg.

A regional network to make corporate heritage visible.
