Email: lukasmo@bmb.sdu.dk

Lukas has been a member of the research group of Susanne Mandrup since 2019, where he has been involved in projects on transcriptional regulation in adipocytes during the development of obesity, and the role of lipolysis in maintaining adipocyte gene expression.

Lukas finished two individual study projects as well as his bachelor's project in ADIPOSIGN before being recruited as a so-called 4+4-PhD student in ATLAS from January 2022.

The overarching aim of his PhD project is to understand adipose tissue plasticity and crosstalk between adipocytes and other cell types at single-cell resolution during obesity development, and to map the spatial distribution of different cell types in adipose tissue.

His work includes the use of mouse model systems, and application of RNA-sequencing at bulk- and single-cell resolution, sequencing approaches for epigenomic investigation, such as ATAC- and CUT&RUN-seq, and the massively multiplexed single-molecule imaging technology, MERFISH.
