Babukrishna Maniyadath

Dept. of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Babukrishna Maniyadath is an engineer in Biotechnology turned researcher and she received her doctorate in Molecular Physiology in 2020, at the Department of Biological Sciences in Tata Institute of Fundamental Research - Mumbai, India. Her doctoral research was focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms that induce/maintain oscillatory gene expression in response to metabolic cues and their effects on organismal energetics and metabolism. She continued in the same lab as a short-interim postdoc to study the metabolic regulation of chromatin organisation and hepatic genome architecture. She joined Susanne Mandrup’s research group as a postdoc on the ATLAS project in September 2020. Her interest lies in investigating adipose tissue plasticity during obesity development and regression and its impact on peripheral tissue metabolism.
