Several representatives of the university administration, including the Vice Chancellor, Henrik Dam, as well as the Chair of the Danish National Research Foundation, Liselotte Højgaard, spoke of the great effort leading up to the selection of ATLAS as Center of Excellence.

Susanne Mandrup spoke of her great expectations for the center and of looking forward to leading the way and providing a space in which young researchers can join forces in the search for new knowledge on single cell level.

To symbolise a productive teamwork, the band See You Soon Racoon gave an excellent demonstration on interplay playing their own funky and jazzy compositions.

3 guest speakers honored us by presenting their research at the scientific symposium in the afternoon:

Kirsi Virtanen, Adjunct Profressor, Turku PET Centre, Finland

Matthias Mann, Director, Max-Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Munich, Germany

Madan Babu, Programme Leader, MRC Cambridge, United Kingdom
