The purpose of the work package is to enhance resilience against rising sea levels by developing a comprehensive and flexible climate adaptation plan.
How it is done
- Solutions to rising sea levels in urban areas are developed through risk assessments and long-term planning.
- Include socio-economic value mapping, including non-monetary aspects (cultural heritage, recreational areas, etc.), in the risk assessment.
- Gather experiences and build competencies in the use of nature-based solutions.
- Provide examples of contribution distributions and recommendations for future practices.
- Strengthen partnerships on coastal development, as addressing sea level rise is best achieved through joint efforts and coordination across stakeholders.
The Danish Environmental Protection Agency is responsible for the work package. The following municipalities are participating in the work package: Lemvig, Mariagerfjord, Morsø, Nyborg, Odsherred, Randers, Vejle, and Aarhus. Additionally, the utility company Lemvig Vand is also part of the work package.
