Mike Krogh Terkelsen

Former PhD Fellow
Dept. of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology

Mike was a member of the research group of Kim Ravnskjaer since 2016, where he was involved with work on transcriptional regulation in hepatic stellate cells during NASH- and fibrosis development in the liver.

Mike joined ATLAS as a PhD fellow in January 2018 to work on projects related to hepatic tissue plasticity in response to diet-induced obesity and regression with a focus on NASH- and liver fibrosis development. His main research focus was to characterize transcriptional regulation in specific liver-resident populations using mouse- and human model systems. His work included application of single-cell RNA sequencing and a strong computational background to determine this during disease development and regression.

In January 2022 he handed in his PhD thesis entitled "Transcriptional regulation in non-alcoholic steatohepatitis", which he defended in early April 2022, where he gave a lecture on "Application of single cell transcriptomics to understand cellular plasticity in the diseased liver".

As of May 2022 Mike joined Illumina.
