The immune contexture of solid tumors has significant prognostic and therapeutic relevance in the clinic and is essential for development of novel immunotherapeutic approaches. High resolution definition of these cell types has historically been limited by multiple technological challenges. Josh Waterfall will present the use of droplet microfluidic single cell approaches in clinical patient samples to characterize the cellular heterogeneity of the infiltrating immune populations and understand the gene regulatory processes driving their differentiation and plasticity.

Josh Waterfall is a group leader at the Translational research department and INSERM unit U830, Institute Curie in Paris.
