Jens Ringsmose took up his position as Rector of the University of Southern Denmark in November 2021.

Jens Ringsmose originally earned his degree in History at the University of Southern Denmark, where he has also started his research career, focusing on the field of security and defence policy. SDU has been a consistent factor in Jens Ringsmose’s career, which also includes appointments at the Danish Institute for Military Operations and the Royal Danish Defence College. Jens Ringsmose previously served at Dean of the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences at SDU. During his tenure, he created visible results and among other things brought about SDU’s collaboration with Media City Odense and SDU’s Business School. In addition, his career consists of extensive academic and managerial experience, which also includes an extensive national and international network.

Other positions and managerial duties

Jens Ringsmose is a member of the Advisory Boards of the Royal Danish Defence College and Think Tank Europa as well as the Danish Conference of Rectors under Universities Denmark. In addition, Jens Ringsmose is a member of the following boards: The Campus Kollegiet Foundation, Thomas B. Thriges Kollegium, Energi Fyns Udviklingsfond, SIMAC, Odense Port A/S, Erhvervshus Fyn and Erhvervshus Sydjylland.
