Theme day to pave the way for more collaboration on innovation across SDU

HEALTH INNOVATION DAY 2024: Unfolding the vision!

By Marianne Lie Becker, , 11/29/2023

The vision for the integrated New OUH and SDU revolves around creating better relationships and more collaboration. The new HEALTH-building is designed to support this vision.

HEALTH INNOVATION DAY on January 8, 2024, marks the first event in the new building, focusing on health-related innovation within the new ecosystem at Campus Odense and across disciplines and organizations in the region.

The hosts of the day are the Faculty of Health Sciences, Danish Life Science Cluster, and Life Science Fyn. The intention is to inspire health-related innovation across SDU, the regional hospitals, and with other external partners, while highlighting the entire value chain from idea generation to application for end-users.

- We look forward to meeting colleagues and partners in the HEALTH-building and initiating new dialogues that can make an impact on society, says Ole Skøtt, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

The event is relevant for researchers and staff at SDU, OUH, and other hospitals in the Region of Southern Denmark, Syddansk SundhedsInnovation, Danish Life Science Cluster, as well as other external partners interested in innovation with a health perspective.

- At The Faculty of Health Sciences, we cannot reach as far as when all five faculties come together. We will collaborate on the value chain from a bright idea and need to something useful in the clinic and in society – and we do this in dialogue and interaction with all relevant parties, says Ole Skøtt.

The program for HEALTH INNOVATION DAY consists of brief inspiring speeches, examples of innovation projects, and throughout the day, attendees can visit exhibition stands offering networking opportunities and engagement in new collaborations.

- We have put together an exciting program that hopefully can inspire more work on innovation and create new relationships and foster new collaborations, says Uffe Holmskov, Vice Dean for Research at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
