Thomas Hemmer is Houston Endowment Professor of Accounting at the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University, Texas. He will be awarded an honorary doctorate at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences at SDU for his world-leading accounting research. His work has significantly strengthened our understanding of how information economics can be used in accounts and organisations. For example, the connection between governance structure, measurement of performance and performance reward has been the subject of his research.
