I did my Bachelors and Masters in Life Sciences from University of Delhi, New Delhi, India. From the beginning of my scientific career, I have been interested in understanding the fundamental molecular principles driving early development and cell homeostasis. I completed my PhD in Genetics and Developmental Biology from Ratnaparkhi Lab in Indian Institute of Science Education and Research in 2017. During my PhD, I had the opportunity to get acquainted with classical genetics using Drosophila melanogaster model system. I focused on the origin of lineage-specific transcription factor (MADF-BESS) gene family expansion and their function in Drosophila development. I joined Hoffmann Lab in University of Copenhagen in 2017 as a postdoc where I focused on molecular processes that shape the natural fertility curve in human females. I used single cell transcriptomics and imaging to uncover mechanisms that result in genome instability in human oocytes.

I joined Mandrup group in October 2021 and my project focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying the regulation of chromatin topology during differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells(hMSCs) towards adipogenic lineage. To this end, I will combine high content quantitative and super-resolution imaging alongwith advanced genomics to characterize chromatin plasticity pan-genomic and at individual genetic loci.
