Multimodal health communication

Health communication is a central field of research for several members of CMC. Cindie Maagaard engages in collaborations with the Health Sciences at SDU in the field of Narrative Medicine. This includes research on the narrative practices of nurses writing diaries for intensive care patients as well as research with Alexandra Holsting on physicians’ writing in health records.

Theo van Leeuwen and Nina Nørgaard head the International Sexual Health Promotion Network, which is a network of researchers from a range of countries who are investigating how information about selected aspects of sexual health is communicated to different population groups in their countries, with some emphasis on the use of visual communication and on cultural issues related to conceptions of sexual health.

Nina Nørgaard, Theo van Leeuwen, Alexandra Holsting, Cindie Maagaard and Carole Jepsen are currently developing a new project which focuses on the multimodal communication of sexual health in Denmark.
