New research project: Risk, Emotions and Trust in Times of Health Crisis - part of the Covid 19 initiative of the Velux Foundation

Barbara Fersch from SEBE will together with Anna Schneider-Kamp from IMM explore the impact of health risk on the parent-teacher relationship and its digitalisation during the COVID-19 pandemic in Denmark in this project.

The drastic social distancing measures introduced in Denmark as part of the lockdown from 12 March 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic have turned the tables for the digitalisation of public services, overnight eliminating face-to-face encounters in favour of online variants. Thus, the COVID-19 pandemic will likely  shape the professional-citizen relationships and associated (digital) practices that build and sustain it for years to come.

This project aims to collect data on these processes of change as they happen, focussing on the case of  primary school teachers and parents. The researchers will collect qualitative data on emerging risk perceptions, emotional responses, and patterns of trust shaping the parent-teacher relationship in times of COVID-19.

The project is financed by the Velux Foundation (78.750 DKK) as a part of  its Covid-19 initiative. Read more about the initiative here.
